As a design and development studio we specialize in offering our clients and partners all of the ideas, creative execution and tools they need to help launch, revamp and sustain healthy brands and growing communities. We do this using a talented team of designers, illustrators, photographers, videographers and practitioners of the programming arts.
Our projects range from small start-ups to larger foundations to universities to internal, curated projects of our own making.
We treat all of our clients as partners. We want to be part of their vision, and them to be part of ours. While not all projects are intended to be long-term, many of our business relationships have evolved into long-lasting, productive collaborations.
Our passion is for the challenge. We are full of ideas and we consider ourselves experts at a number of things. Every project is ripe with exciting obstacles and opportunities to be creative.
A collective. Ben & Blake have been working together almost every day for over 8 years. Not only do they have each other’s “backs”, but a number of amazing and talent people have theirs. Our little group produces kick-ass products and experiences. Get to know us.
Ben is the engineer behind the code, user interfaces, platforms and tools that power our projects. He has an insatiable appetite for making something out of nothing. He has been working in interactive development since 2000.
Blake is our information architect, content strategist and chief designer. He likes to transform fleeting ideas into concepts and concepts into brands. He has been “spinning plates” since 1999.
Daniel, a highly skilled and passionate developer, joined Canary in 2012. He’s an open source enthusiast who loves solving problems. He enjoys building scalable web applications and is constantly looking for a more efficient way to do things.
A close collaborator with Blake for over 10 years, Zack provides not only excellent photography skills but helps to run all events and scheme on new ventures.
A videographer, editor and excellent story teller, Steve helps with all content development for client projects and curated brands. He is also one of the reasons Mardi Gras seems to run smoothly every year.
Soon after moving to New Orleans, Rob helped lend his photography, video and audio production talents to help launch Humid Beings. He is now an essential part of Canary’s team.

Michael is our resident content curator and social media expert. She also works closely with end-users to ensure that their voices are heard on our community platforms.
An amazing designer in print, Scott caught our eye and we brought him in to help with concepts for Dirty Coast. He always brings each project a surprising creative solution and letterpress style.
In the age of digital artists in every corner of the graphic design industry, Avery has an artists touch and capability to deliver incredible detail and hand drawn creations.
Our first and favorite motion artist, Burke helps to add storytelling elements to our video projects. His humor and personality meld with ours very well.
